Still Quite Ordinary

A short four years between blogs.

I thought about starting a new one, but I like the name of this one, I know how it works, and I don't love change.

I've recently been made redundant, or taken a redundancy, which seems to be a more choice orientated decision based on the wording. It's not the worst, but it is a big change, and I've already mentioned how I'm not that keen on that sort of thing.

I'm on Day Five of not working and have watched two seasons of The Office (is there some sort of irony in finally watching this much-loved show in the first week of no longer going to my office-based job? Perhaps. I do love me some light entertainment.). I've completed the 500-piece jigsaw that I started a month ago & got distracted from. I've started glueing pieces of sea glass to fishing line again, creating extremely ordinary/average/amateur pieces of 'art'.

This morning I emptied my entire clothing wardrobe onto the floor of my loungeroom, so I could continue to watch my show but also be productive. It took 2 coffees, some cold and flu daytime tablets (I'm fine, just needed the faux energy) and a hydrolyte but I got through it. 3 bags for the op shop and some kind of relief in letting go.

I'm also trying to squat more. Nothing else to say about that.

I've got some contract work for the next 3 months, alongside a Fringe show, which I'm excited and hopeful about, whilst simultaneously feeling overwhelmed and nervous. Lots of writing to do, hence restarting a blog out of nowhere, both parts to distract and to practice.

I like writing. I should do more of it.

Apologies ahead of time for the potential oversharing and self-flagellation, I can't help myself. Wherever you're reading this from - may you be well. Glad to be back.
